Metadata Extraction

IDOL Eduction uniquely allows users to identify and extract entities such as names, statistics and locations from an unstructured piece of content such as a Word document, a PowerPoint presentation, a telephone conversation, a video conference or an email. Once extracted, these entities can be automatically forwarded to alert users to developments in real-time, or be used to populate structured databases or search fields.

Autonomy goes far beyond traditional entity identification and extraction solutions. Not only can the technology extract specific data such as organizations, people, places and figures, but IDOL Eduction can actually identify the relationships between different entities within a piece of information to reveal market trends, customer behavior, or risks and opportunities. In addition, IDOL Eduction is able to enrich extracted data based on the knowledge already held within the organization to automatically cross-reference new information with old in order to determine which entities have changed.

IDOL Eduction does not require any previous training. The core engine is mathematical and can identify entities and the relationships between them automatically. Naturally, this capability also allows IDOL Eduction to make use of previously defined terms, as well as pre-defined grammars and rules. It also permits custom entities to be built and deployed in a potentially unlimited range of applications, from increasing sales in eCommerce and enhancing competitive analysis to quickly and easily comparing candidates for a job or even connecting the dots in counterterrorism efforts.

Key Benefits:

  • Automatically populate structured fields
  • Understand conceptual relevance
  • Rapid, accurate extraction of data
  • Automatically extract metadata to enrich search
  • Minimize administrative overheads
  • Format and language independent
